The number pad and the tree's page

On the device, find a tree by its number, stamp or tag, and see on its page what is done and what comes next.

What this is for

The number pad is the device app's home screen. A crew finds each tree here, records on the tree's page, and comes back here for the next one. Everything on it works without signal.

Find a tree

  1. Type the tree's number on the keypad. It shows large under Tree number from the list.
  2. Tap Open. The tree's page opens.
  3. A stamp or tag with letters: tap ABC and type it as written on the tree. 123 brings the digits back.
  4. The keypad in the way: swipe it down. Tap the number to bring it back.
  5. A tree you opened before: tap it under Recent trees. The last five are there, each with where it is now.

If the app says This tree is not on this device., check the number. The tree list may not have reached the device yet: it needs signal once.

The rest of the home screen

  • The lot, at the top left: the lot you are working in. Tap it to Switch lot.
  • Your initials: the way into Settings. See Settings on the device.
  • The dot and the bell, at the top right: what waits to be sent, and records to fix. See Sending and To fix.
  • The round buttons: Loads, Yard, Overview and, where your organization has a saw, Saw. Each opens its own screen, with its count.

The tree's page

The tree's tag is at the top: its number, its stamp or tag, the tree list's estimate, and its state in colour (Standing, Felled, Bucked, On a truck, At the saw, Sawn). Tap the tag to turn it over: the felling's photo, the place and the logs.

Under it are the round buttons Fell, Buck, Photo and Move, and the Steps card. The steps go in order:

  1. Felling: Record the felling. See Fell a tree.
  2. Bucking: Buck this tree. See Buck a tree.
  3. Shipment: Put on a truck load. See Truck loads.

A step that is done shows who did it and when. Tap Correct on it to change it.

After saving

After a felling or a bucking, the app goes back to the number pad. A green line says, for example, "✓ 101 saved on this device", with Undo.

  • A mistake, right away: tap Undo. The record comes back to the form, unsent. Change it and save again.
  • Later, or already sent: open the tree and tap Correct on the step.
  • Saved under the wrong tree: on the tree's page, tap Move. See Correcting records.
