Sending and To fix
How the device sends its records, what the dot at the top means, and what to do when the bell shows records to fix.
What this is for
Everything a crew records is saved on the device first, and sent to the organization when there is signal. No signal is normal: keep working, nothing is lost.
The dot at the top
At the top right of every screen, a dot and a few words say what waits to be sent:
| Dot | Words | Means | Do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green | The time, such as 14:05 | Everything is sent | Nothing |
| Blue | 3 waiting | Records wait to be sent | Nothing: they go by themselves |
| Blue | Sending | Sending now | Wait |
| Grey | Offline · 3 | No signal | Keep working |
| Orange | Photos not sent | The records went, some photos not yet | Nothing: they are sent again |
| Red | Not sending · 3 | Something stops sending | Tap it, and show a manager |
The Sending screen
Tap the dot to open Sending. It says in a sentence what is happening, and lists Records waiting, Oldest waiting since, Last sent, Last try and Next try.
- Send now tries at once, without waiting for the next try.
- Photos are sent on Wi-Fi, to save mobile data. Send photos now, also on mobile data sends them at once.
- Clock difference shows how far the device's clock is from the server's. If the clock is wrong, a banner asks to turn on automatic date and time.
When sending stops
- Sign in again to send records.: the device has been offline too long, or the password changed. Sign in with the password (this needs signal). The records are kept meanwhile.
- Update the app to send records. You can keep recording.: install the new version of the app.
- Anything else: tap the dot, then show the Sending screen to a manager.
To fix: the bell
Sometimes the server refuses a record, for example a log code already on another load, or a tree deleted on another device. The bell at the top shows how many. Tap it to open To fix.
Each refused record says what it was, why it was refused and when. Its buttons fix it where it can be fixed on the device:
- Open and fix the code or Open the load without these codes: the load or intake opens with the codes to fix marked. Save it to send it again.
- Choose the tree they belong to: for a move to a tree that already had records.
- Record it again as new, Take the saw again, Go to the open tree: as they say.
- Tell a manager: the record names something the organization does not have. The office fixes it.
Only tap Dismiss when a manager agrees: the refused record is put aside and is not sent again. Details for support shows what support needs to look into it.
The office sees refused records too, under To fix in the console. See Fixing refused records (To fix).
Before handing the device on
Check that the dot is green. Then, in Settings, tap Log out. It works only when everything is sent. See Settings on the device.
