Settings and preferences

The organization's settings, a lot's own settings, and your personal preferences, and who can change each.

What this is for

There are three levels of settings:

LevelWhereWho changes itWho it affects
OrganizationAdmin → SettingsOwnersEveryone, and every lot that has no setting of its own
LotA lot's Lot settings (the gear in its header)Owners and managersThat lot
Your preferencesMe → PreferencesYouOnly you, in the console

Everyone can read the settings. Every change of an organization or lot setting asks Why, and is kept under Changes, with who changed what and when.

Change a setting

  1. Find the setting and click Change.
  2. Choose or type the new value.
  3. Say Why. It is kept with the change.
  4. Click Save.

A message confirms the change, with Undo to put the previous value back.

Your preferences

Me → Preferences. Nobody else sees these, and they change nothing that is recorded.

PreferenceChoices
LanguageEnglish or Türkçe, or none to follow the organization's language
ColoursAs this device is set, Light, Dark
Text sizeNormal, Large, Larger
Rows loaded at a time50, 100 or 200, for long tables
Start pageToday, Lots, Saws or Activity

Click Save preferences.

Me also shows your name, username, role, organization, its timezone, and What you can do here. Change your password there under Password. Changing it signs you out everywhere else.

Device app display

On a device, Settings → Display sets the Theme (Normal or Sunlight, for bright sun), the Text size and the Language (English or Türkçe). These are for that device, for everyone who uses it. The device does not follow the organization's language.

Support access

Settings → Support access is where an owner lets a support person in for a few hours. See Support access.

Tips

  • Settings that change how records are judged, such as utilization flags, apply at once to everything, including what was recorded before.
  • Settings that a record must meet, such as the evidence for a felling, apply to new records. Devices get them the next time they have signal.
  • Read Changes before changing a setting someone else set. Their reason is there.
