Exports

Export a lot's workbook or a load's manifest as Excel or CSV, take any table as a CSV file, read live records, and include ID numbers only when allowed.

What this is for

Exports give you Tomruq's records as files, for your accounts, the forestry office, a buyer or an auditor. They are written in the background from one consistent reading of the records, so every sheet agrees with every other.

Owners, managers and auditors can export.

What you can export

ExportWhat it holds
Lot workbookOne lot: an overview, every tree in the list with what was recorded, fellings, logs, codes on loads, wood without a tag, intake, the saw, the people the records name, trees felled per day, and the trees the checks flag
Load manifestOne load: every log on it, with the volume total

Each file also has an "about" sheet: the organization, the lot or load, the measurement basis, the volume formula, units, timezone, the lot's settings in force, when the file was made and for whom. Every column is explained there.

Steps

  1. Go to Records → Exports.
  2. Under New export, choose What to export: Lot workbook or Load manifest.
  3. Choose the Lot, and for a manifest the Load.
  4. Choose the Format:
    • Excel workbook (XLSX)
    • CSV files, one per sheet, in a ZIP file
  5. Click Export.

The export appears below, first as Waiting, then Being written, then Ready. Click Download.

Files are kept for 7 days, then deleted. You can always export again.

ID numbers in exports

Employee numbers and other ID numbers are left out of exports unless all of these are true:

  • An owner has allowed it: Settings → Identifiers in exports → "Allowed".
  • You are an owner or a manager.
  • You tick Include identifiers (such as employee numbers) and enter your password.

Asking for such an export is recorded under Activity, and so is each download. Downloading it asks for your password again.

A table as a CSV file

Most tables in the console have an Export CSV button above them: a lot's trees, loads and imports, Activity (records and admin), the Custody ledger, To fix, Species, Accounts and Devices (the field devices and the browsers each have their own).

  1. Filter and sort the table the way you want it.
  2. Click Export CSV.

The file holds exactly what the table shows with those filters, every row of it, not only the rows on screen. The column names are in your language. Dates and times are in the organization's timezone, and the column name says which one. The file never holds ID numbers.

  • One file holds at most 20,000 rows. For more, narrow the filters, or use the lot workbook above, or the organization's archive under Settings → Data and exit.
  • Each file taken is recorded under Activity.
  • You need to be allowed to export. Without that, the button is greyed out and says why.

Live records

To look without exporting: open a lot and click Live records in its header. You see the same sheets and columns as the lot workbook, as they stand right now, read only, never with ID numbers. What each column holds explains each column.

Tips

  • Volumes in exports keep their full stored precision. The screens round them to three decimals.
  • Every volume column states its basis (over bark or under bark).
  • Only the person who asked for an export, or an owner, can download it.
  • A failed export shows on Today for 7 days. Try again; if it fails again, contact support.
