The Today page

What the Today page shows, what each to-do means, and where its button takes you.

What this is for

Today is the first page in the sidebar and the usual start page. It answers two questions: does anything need me? and how is the work going?

What you see, from the top

  1. A greeting and a count: "Nothing needs you right now", or "3 things need you".
  2. Get set up: the setup checklist, for owners and managers, until every step is done. See Getting started.
  3. Things that need you: one row per item, each with a count, one sentence and one button.
  4. Today's work: three figures for today, in your organization's timezone.
  5. The last 14 days: a chart of trees felled and trees into the saw per day.
  6. Your lots: up to five active lots, each with a progress bar, and a link to all lots.

Today's work

  • Trees felled: fellings recorded today that still stand.
  • Loads on trucks: loads recorded today and not deleted.
  • Trees into the saw: trees started at a saw today.

The figures count what has reached the server. A crew without signal sends later, and the figures grow then.

The 14-day chart

Point at a day to read its figures. With the keyboard, focus the chart and use the left and right arrow keys; Home and End go to the first and last day.

Tips

  • Make another page your start page under Me → Preferences → Start page.
  • An empty "Today's work" early in the day is normal: crews often send when they reach signal.
  • An out-of-contact device is not always a problem. It may just be in the forest. Call the crew if it is close to the limit.
