Getting started
Sign in to the console for the first time, find your way around, and work through the setup checklist.
What this is for
Your first visit to the console. You sign in, learn where things are, and use the setup checklist to get a lot ready for a crew.
Sign in the first time
If you were invited by email or given a link:
- Open the invitation link.
- The page Join the organization opens.
- Type a Password: at least 12 characters. A few words make a good one.
- Click Accept the invitation.
- Click Sign in, and sign in with your email (or username) and the password you chose.
If you already sign in to another organization with the same email address, use that same password. You have one password for every organization.
- Go to
https://tomruq.com. - Type your Email and your Password.
- Click Sign in.
If your email address belongs to one organization, you are in.
If it belongs to more than one, Choose an organization opens. Each organization shows its short name and your role there. Click the one you want. To go back, click Start again.
If you use two-step sign-in, you are asked for a code next:
- Open the authenticator app on your device.
- Type the six-digit code it shows, or one of your recovery codes.
- Click Sign in.
The code is asked once you have chosen the organization. If you take more than five minutes, you are asked for your email and password again.
Sign in with a username. Some accounts have a username instead of an email address, usually crew members. A username belongs to one organization:
- On the sign-in page, click Sign in with a username.
- Under Organization, type your organization's short name, then click Continue.
- Type your Username or email and your Password.
- Click Sign in.
The organizations you signed in to before on this browser are listed under Organizations on this browser. Click one to open it. If you are signed out there, its own sign-in page opens.
Forgot your password? Click Forgot your password? on the sign-in page. Type your Email and click Email me a link. We email you a link. It works once, for 60 minutes. The new password works in every organization you sign in to.
Find your way around
The sidebar on the left holds everything:
| Group | Pages |
|---|---|
| Today | What needs you now, and today's work |
| Work | Lots, Saws |
| People | Crew, Devices |
| Records | To fix, Activity, Exports |
| Admin (click to open) | Accounts, Identifier access, Sites, Settings |
You only see the pages your role allows.
Your own page, Me, and Sign out are in the menu under your name, at the top right.
To find anything fast, press Ctrl K (⌘ K on a Mac), or click Search. Type a tree number, tag, log code, plate, lot or name.
The setup checklist
Owners and managers see Get set up on the Today page. It shows how many steps are done, such as "2 of 6 steps done". Each step has a button that takes you to the right place.
| Step | What it means | Button |
|---|---|---|
| Import a tree list | The office's list of trees for a lot | Import (or Go to lots if there is no lot yet) |
| Set the tree notes crews can pick | Short notes about a tree's condition, such as rot | Lot settings |
| Add your crew | The cutters, buckers and drivers that records name | Add crew |
| Invite the people who sign in | Office staff, crews who record on a device, auditors | Invite |
| Register a device | Sign in on the device app once | See devices |
| Record a first felling | A crew records it on the device app | (none: it is done in the field) |
Work through them in order. The first felling shows on Today once the device has signal and has sent it.
The checklist goes away by itself when every step is done. An owner can also click Dismiss to hide it earlier. To show it again: Settings → Setup checklist on Today.
